Think you have game? Florida's new professional basketball team, the South Coast Fire, will hold open tryouts for new players on Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6, 2013 at Trinity Christian College 800 Hammond Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221. Registration opens at 4pm and tryouts will be from 5pm - 8pm. Tryout fee is $75 per player and each player must wear shorts, athletic supporter and competitive basketball sneakers during workout.

The South Coast Fire is a semi-pro basketball team in the highly-competitive American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com. To be eligible for a tryout, athletes must be at least 18 years of age, graduating college seniors or highly-skilled athletes looking to get into semi-professional basketball. Players who make it on the South Coast Fire team have the opportunity to further their basketball career to other semi-pro basketball leagues in the US and abroad. The South Coast Fire will begin their basketball season in late October with play beginning in November.
The tryout is closed to the general public, but all media are invited to witness the making of Jacksonville’s newest pro sports team. Interviews with head coach Willie Ponds or any eligible tryout participant are available upon request.
